Case Studies:
Administrative Branch of a large Ontario Religious Not-for-Profit group with approximately 25 employees
Situation
The company was unhappy with their current IT provider, due to increasing costs, unreliable service and the loss of several months of data after a server crash. Costs were escalating due to a lack of standardized equipment, IT processes and organized support procedures. The previous IT service provider had not taken the time sit down and consult with the client to develop an IT strategic plan for organizational growth and operational efficiencies.
Solution
Intrasys was invited into the situation after new servers were put in place. The group was looking to standardize their network, limit their IT costs, and protect their data.
Intrasys consulted with the client to determine their IT needs, and completed a full network analysis. It was determined that the hardware in place was suitable. Intrasys worked on setting a new, more reliable direction for the company's IT infrastructure. We immediately implemented a multi-tiered backup system (local, tapes and Internet) to protect the client's data assets. Following this Intrwasys looked to clean up the Windows 2003 Server and Exchange, implementing industry best-practices, including managed virus-protection, group-based security, and stricter user security. Stricter security was pushed out to the workstations via group policies, and Exchange security was set at the server level. This work was done over a period of approximately 3 days.
Outcome
After securing and standardizing their network, this Organization has more than halved their monthly IT maintenance costs. Intrasys continues to provide professional IT consulting and services to this client, functioning as their IT department, at a much lower cost than maintaining an internal IT professional.
